We hope to inspire you with this boating itinerary and give you an idea of the possibilities for your holiday in the beautiful surroundings of the Weerribben-Wieden and Giethoorn.
Natural Yachts' harbour is centrally located in the Netherlands, close to National Park Weerribben-Wieden and idyllic Giethoorn. Depending on your check-in time and possible boating refreshment hours, you can choose to spend the first night in our harbour or boat another beautiful and short distance to the historic town of Vollenhove.
From our harbour to Vollenhove is about 30 minutes of boating.
From Vollenhove, you can boat to Blokzijl via the Vollenhovermeer. In the former Zuiderzee town of Blokzijl, located in National Park the Weerribben-Wieden, history can be seen through the merchant's houses, the high-water cannons and the central location of the harbour basin overlooking the Big Church. Blokzijl is a very popular spot among many water sports enthusiasts and is definitely worth spending one or more days.

From Vollenhove to Blokzijl is about 60 minutes of boating.
From Blokzijl, you boat via the Giethoornsche Meer (stay close to the red buoyage signs) and via Muggenbeet to Jachthaven de Kluft. Ossenzijl is located on the Kalenbergergracht, which is the access point from the Weerribben to the Frisian lakes.
From Blokzijl to Ossenzijl is about 2 hours of boating.
You will navigate to Steenwijk via a beautiful route. You can, for example, moor at Passantenhaven Steenwijkerdiep. In the historic city centre, you can shop and enjoy some drinks and bites on the terrace. Steenwijk is also a city of architecture and culture.
From Ossenzijl to Steenwijk is about 1 hour and 40 minutes of boating.
From Steenwijk, you boat to the authentic and fairytale-like Giethoorn. This village was created by peat extraction, resulting in many lakes where people built houses on the islands in between. These houses can be reached by bridges or by a narrow boat called a punter.
You set off for Zwartsluis, a true water sports village. The Zwarte Water and the Meppelerdiep come together at this point. The village functioned as a transit port, bringing peat from Drenthe via Zwartsluis (Swarte Sluys) towards North and South Holland.
From Zwartsluis, set course for Genemuiden (if you like). This is a short trip by boat. Genemuiden's highlights are the carpet museum, the 1856 steam pumping station in the historic city centre and the historic centre.
From Steenwijk to Zwartsluis is about 2 hours and 30 minutes boating.
From Zwartsluis or Genemuiden, you can return to Natural Yachts' harbour via the Zwarte Meer.
From Zwartsluis or Genemuiden, you can cruise via inland waters via Hasselt and Zwolle to Kampen. Kampen is a versatile and vibrant city, offering great shopping, many events and several museums. Because of its rich history, Kampen is also referred to as an open-air theatre. Admire the maritime heritage, such as the brown fleet, and discover the various gates, churches and towers and the unique bridge with the golden wheels.
From Zwartsluis or Genemuiden via Hasselt and Zwolle to Kampen is about 3 hours and 30 minutes by boat.
From Kampen it is a nice short cruise via the Zwarte Meer to Natural Yachts' harbour. It is important to stay well in the fairway here because of shallow water. Always keep starboard (right) in the fairway. From the Zwarte Meer, you pass the Kadoeler Bridge to navigate to our harbour.
From 01-04 to 31-10, the Kadoeler Bridge is open every day between 13:30h and 19:00h. On Monday to Saturday, between 07:30h and 12:30h. On Sundays and public holidays, between 09:00h and 12:30h.
From Kampen to Natural Yachts' harbour is about 3 hours and 30 minutes of boating.
