A short introduction, tell something about yourself

Hi everyone! My name is Anna van Althuis and I am a 22-year-old student from a small town near Sneek in Friesland. After high school I decided to study in Groningen and I’ve been living here for almost four years now. In my spare time I like to travel and hang out with friends, but since Covid-19 I rediscovered the kitchen and developed a love for baking!

What are you studying and where?

I’m studying marketing management with a specialization in sales at the Hanzehogeschool in Groningen. The past six months I’ve completed a minor in Human Resource Management, and now I’m in the final stage of my bachelor.

Why do you like to do your graduation project at Natural Yachts?

I’m really excited to do my graduation project at Natural Yachts! Mainly because I really admire their mission of making zero-emission sailing accessible for everyone, but also because it’s a young and dynamic company. Furthermore, the subject ‘sustainability,’ is something that I feel really passionate about and which becomes more and more important these days. I really like the fact that Natural Yachts is focused on the future and contributes to the reduction of emissions and keeps our planet clean!

Which boat from Natural Yachts is your favourite and why?

The Northman Maxus 26
The Northman Maxus 26

When I’m on vacation I prefer to be active! That’s why I would choose the Northman Maxus 26. This is a 26 feet sailing boat, and I really like the fact that you have to work a little to go somewhere. I don’t have a lot of experience with sailing boats, so luckily you can add more comfort to the yacht by powering it electrically. The boat has 4 fixed berths and 2 flexible berths which means you can bring your closed family members as well!

The Northman 1200 Flybridge

The second boat I really like is the Northman 1200 Flybridge. The reason why I like this boat is because you can steer outside and have a great view at the same time. It’s an impressive yacht and with the extra height compared to the Northman 1200, I would feel like a real captain steering on top! It also has three double cabins, so you can bring enough friends or family with you. Lastly the Northman 1200 Flybridge can be electrically powered with the option of a Fuel Cell range extender and therefore you can sail without any emissions.

What do you hope to learn during your graduation project?

During my graduation project, I hope to be able to apply my gained knowledge from recent years in practice. In addition, I would also like to learn a lot more about the market in which Natural Yachts operates and help them develop even further in the field of marketing!

Thank you Anna for these insights, we wish you the best of luck with your graduation project!
